Thieves cut open ATM

A case of theft was opened.

THE ALBERTON SAPS were called out to an house in Rondebult, where an Absa express ATM has been installed, on July 19, at 06:30.

The owner of the house had registered a complaint about the theft of cash from the machine. Thieves cut the ATM to get to the money and the police suspect that a cutting torch and hammer were used.

The steel door of the ATM had been left unlocked overnight, by the owner of the house. Members of the family allege that they heard nothing during the night.

The owner of the house was taken in for questioning, after a case of theft of cash was opened.
