Make Mandela Day special for children

Now the challenge is with businesses, community and individuals to come on board and donate any goods to the centre.

CAXTON South has embraced Look Forward Creativity Centre in South Hills as a charity, and has embarked on a special outreach to the centre on Mandela Day, July 18.

Each and every child deserves a second chance in life no matter what experiences they have gone through. If they fail to know a family now, they never will. This vision calls for the community to become active participants in this outreach.

This is a centre where children who have been abandoned, neglected, abused and orphaned receive love and good family care. The centre gives these children a home and communities form an integral part of child welfare, enabling even the abandoned children to grow up as well-rounded adults and productive citizens.

The centre is only an instrument to accomplish these objectives. Everyone has a part to play in this initiative. Now the challenge is over to businesses, our communities and individuals to come on board and donate any goods to the centre.

Goods needed include Oros juice, long-life milk, peanut butter, tea, coffee. Cerelac – as a matter of fact, just about all non-perishable foods which can help feed these children, as well as cleaning products for the centre and toiletries for the little ones. Drop off points are Caxton South’s office, 1 Eaton Terrace, New Redruth, Alberton and Panarotti’s (The Glen).

This centre, now in its 10th year offers a home to over 20 children. It is situated at 4 Messina Street, South Hills, and can be contacted on 011 613 4490, 073 454 1697 or info@lookforwardcreativitycentre.org.za.
