Twenty million Rands in drugs seized

Twenty million Rand’s worth of meth and an assortment of chemicals were seized from an illegal drug manufacturing lab in Brakenhurst, by the Hawks’ Organised Crime unit in Gauteng, in partnership with Gauteng War Room members.

The drugs were found at 10 Appelgrein Street opposite Glenview Primary School around 23:35. When the police arrived they found two Nigerian men aged 36 and 38 sleeping. They found drug manufacturing equipment, 12kg of meth and other chemicals.

The two suspects were arrested and will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on charges of manufacturing drugs.

Germiston Organised Crime will further investigate the case. The Hawks’ investigations will also continue and more suspects are expected to be arrested soon.
