THE Last Man Stands cricket league will be taking place in Alberton and Johannesburg South.
The eight-a-side T20 format of cricket’s inaugural league will take place from April 30 to May 2 and the matches will take place at the following venues:
n Marais Viljoen High School, Bodmin Road, Alberton,
n Klipriversberg Recreation Centre, Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park,
n Glenvista Cricket Club home grounds, and
n Southern Suburbs Recreation Centre, Berg Street, Oakdene.
The Joburg South Open will also run a social Cow Corner Cup event from May 1 to 2. Altogether 18 teams from across the country will participate in the Last Man Stands and six teams in the Cow Corner Cup. Teams such as Bloem Rebels, the team ranked second in the world, The Rebels from Johannesburg, ranked third, and Pakistan VIII from the UK will take part in this event. This is also the qualification event for the World Champs 2017 in Cape Town.
