The long-awaited second annual “The Heavyweights” is attempting another go at having the city’s debonair urban market in cheerful spirits, succeeding a very successful first instalment in 2015.

This year’s event is headlined by award winning house music heads and Hip Hop MCs taking centre stage at Carnival City’s, Big Top Arena, in Brakpan, on June 16.

The Heavyweights presents AKA (Metro FM Awards Winner 2016, Best Hit Single and Collaboration for his hit song “Baddest”, featuring Burna Boy, Khuli Chana and Yanga), Kwesta (Dakar) (Metro FM Awards 2016 Nominee, released hit singles “Ingudu” featuring Cassper Nyovest, “Nomanyini” and his long-awaited double album Dakar II, with 22 tracks), Emtee (Biggest Metro FM Awards Winner 2016, Best remix Roll Up, Best Hip Hop album, Best Music Video Roll Up and Listener’s choice award), Prince Kaybee (Metro FM Award Winner 2016, Best Dance Album) and Major League DJZ (they are among the youngest Hip Hop DJs in the country and well-known for their single, Zulu Girl, featuring Cassper, Ricky Rick and Danger).

Themed “A National Youth Day Celebration”, Thikho Events urges the fans to look forward to the vivid live performance they have always been accustomed to.

As a norm, Thikho Events promote upcoming artists and also give them an opportunity to expose their talents and share a stage with “The Heavyweights”.

The Heavyweights will be supported by: Yanga, K2, Infinite Boys, DJ Kgotso, DJ Levis, Mageza and Moscow, DJ Laschem and DJ Funkycodes.

Thikho Events continues to create live events that entertain the masses. They owe each success to the relationships they have built.

“We always strive to create an ongoing relationship between Thikho Events, the artists and the concert attendees, that will continue throughout each year.

“Our mission is to provide the best and most unique quality of entertainment the music industry has to offer to our concert attendees; also, to meet the artists’ performance needs with professionalism and expertise,” says Richard M. Ramudzuli, events manager at Thikho Events.
