Duduza – A talented group have turned to poetry to fight the plight of drug abuse, GBV and other social ills.
The Duduza Poetry Club was founded by poets Thabiso Ntanda, Thapelo Dimingo, Jabulani Hlongwane and Phephile Hlatshwayo in 2018.
Ntanda said they want to use art as a tool to take the youth off the streets.
“The focus is not only on poetry but we want to provide a platform for artists to showcase their talents as well. Our mission is to create a safe space of expression, touching on current social issues that are affecting our societies.
“We want to use poetry as a tool for literacy empowerment, engagement and education,” he said.
