Artists invited to music workshop

The workshop aims to empower local artists about the entertainment industry.

Duduza – The South African Music Foundation will be hosting a music business workshop aimed at empowering the youth about the music industry.
Facilitated by local artist Sanele Mfene, popularly known as Ankel Sanza, it will take place on Saturday at 5243 Muziq Lounge, Mayisela Street in Mqashi Section, Duduza.
Speakers on the day include artist and entrepreneur Mzwakhe Radebe, rapper and entrepreneur Savage Sossa and radio personality Mike Mathabathe.
A variety of topics will be discussed on the day, which include music production, brand development, and music licensing.
“I have been getting enquiries from young people asking me about the music industry.
“So, I felt that together with the organisation and a group of my friends, we should organise an event that will not only be educational but fun as well.
“These past two years living with Covid-19, it is a must that we put away our guitars, keyboards, microphones and have a conversation about the issues affecting us as artists,” explained Mfene.

He added that their goal is to share knowledge with young people.
“In commemorating youth month, it is our responsibility as a community-based organisation is to give back to young people.
“The panel has a lot of experience on the ins and outs concerning the industry.
“People want to know how to get radio airplay, grow their brands, get their music out there and how to get featured in newspapers.
“This platform will cater to those needs as we will be breaking down the necessary tools to break into the industry,” he added.
They are inviting anyone with an interest in learning about the music industry, whether experienced or not.
The event is free of charge and will run from 15:00 until 17:00.
