Kwa-Thema –The Youth Cultural Festival will go ahead as planned.
The organiser, local DJ Siphiwe Mabena, popularly known as Geezy, said the event scheduled to take place at Bahama on June 26 is set to continue under strict Covid-19 regulations.
On June 15, President Cyril Ramaphosa moved the country to alert level three with a curfew starting at 22:00, additional restrictions on gatherings and the sale of alcohol.
During his address to the nation, he stated that gatherings are to be limited to a maximum of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors.

Where the venue is too small to accommodate these numbers with appropriate physical distancing, then no more than 50% of the capacity of the venue may be used.
This includes religious services, political events and social gatherings, as well as restaurants, bars, taverns and similar establishments.
Attendees are strongly advised to adhere to Covid-19 regulations.
“This has disturbed and also caused delays regarding our preparations, especially with artist and DJ bookings.
“We have been experiencing problems with cancellations by artists.
“The great news is that we are fortunate to have some artists who are available and have confirmed to perform,” he said.
