Buckingham Academy ready to receive learners

The Buckingham Academy in Strubenvale is in full swing after opening its doors in the second half of 2020.

The Buckingham Academy in Strubenvale is in full swing after opening its doors in the second half of 2020.
Principal Catherine Bauthier explained they did homeschooling for more than 80 learners.
“Now, we have between 230 and 250 learners for this year,” she said.
She spoke at the school’s first assembly last Tuesday.
The school adheres to the Cambridge curriculum and caters to all grades up to matric.

“We make sure the learners qualify to study here and abroad.
“Music and brain profiling (and brain gym) are included in our curriculum,” she said.
The school offers virtual learning to adjust to the requirements of Covid-19 regulations.
“All the lessons are available online. However, the learners are free to visit the campus if they need any one-on-one time with teachers.

“We understand that some parents are very strict with not letting their children out of the house during this time,” said Bauthier.
Learning started at the school on Monday.
The school is still open for registration of new learners.
