Geduld supermarket looted by children during armed robbery
An armed robbery at a supermarket in Geduld on Wednesday afternoon also saw school children helping themselves to a variety of goodies.
The store was robbed by two men, one of whom encouraged school children in the shop to take what they wanted.
The children obliged and fled with ice creams, bottles of cold drink and 31 plastic holders containing sweets.

One of the robbers went behind the shop counter and pointed a gun at the cashier.
The gunman then told the cashier to be quiet and open the cash register.
He took all the money from the register, as well as a small coin holder and all the cigarettes on display.
The robber’s accomplice walked into the shop and told the schoolchildren in the store to help themselves.
The men fled once the children left the shop.

In addition to the money and goods, the men also took three cellphones.
The total value of all the stolen items is R27 300.
Video footage captured outside the store showed the men arrived in a black Audi A3, with an unknown registration number.
