Keep your valuables locked away

Springs SAPS management has urged residents of Springs to be vigilant and to always lock away their valuables and keep them out of sight.
This comes after a surge in crime over the past weekend, especially theft from gardens and yards.

“The community must refrain from leaving items lying around, especially bicycles, work tools and toys.
“These items create an opportunity for criminals to be tempted to commit crime by jumping over the fence to steal them.
“Police request the community to work together by adhering to the request to try eliminate the increase of theft cases in the Springs precinct.

“We hope the community will listen to the call and spread the message to other members of the community to support the awareness and call from the police to make Springs a better place in which to reside,” said Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.
