Young rapper is making waves in the music industry

The music video for his hit song Style Sam has officially premiered on MTV Base.

Kwa-Thema – Kwa-Thema rapper Thamsanqa Nogaga, popularly known as Savage Sossa, is celebrating a major milestone in his music career. The music video for his hit song Style Sam has officially premiered on MTV Base. The video was shot in White City at Mohapi and Job Maseko streets. “The video was shot in 2018 and we immediately released it, but it wasn’t reaching the peak we needed. “I submitted it to numerous music channels, but they were just not playing it simply because we did not have the views on YouTube,” said Sossa.

On June 12, he released his brand new song titled Lose My Mind. “After trying so hard to push Style Sam with little success, I decided to move on and work on new music. “It was after the release of Lose My Mind that people actually started viewing and streaming Style Sam, which eventually led to MTV Base playing the video on their channel,” he said. Sossa explained people appreciate the things they see on television more. “In South Africa, nothing is loved until it is on television. Unfortunately, television won’t play anything that has no following. It is a tricky situation.

“They look at your views, which we had to grow first before anything could happen,” he said. His goal is to put Kwa-Thema on the map. “This is a massive achievement; I have been waiting for such an opportunity for so long. I haven’t seen it as I’m not a television person. However, people have been sending me snippets of the video and it is definitely a phenomenal feeling.

“The idea is to be a world-class brand, and this is only the beginning,” said Sossa. He has been featured in the doc-series Blow Up or Cave, which premiered on SABC1 on June 1 at 9pm. “The platform was simply to give my views on South African hip-hop. I shared my opinion and thoughts based on my experiences and how I see things. It was such a beautiful experience. “I also advise up-and-coming artists to put the work in because music is something you are passionate about and is something you would do even if money wasn’t involved,” said Sossa. He is urging fans to keep on requesting the song both on television and radio and continue to watch and share the video on all social media platforms. The rapper is focusing on starting a four-piece band named The Savages.
