Comedian celebrates milestone at home

The multi-talented comedian can sing, dance, act and is a graduate of the University of Limpopo and he is practising law as an advocate.

KwaThema – Born in Duduza, comedian Themba ‘Jazzbuda’ Nhlapo grew up in KwaThema and is now celebrating a milestone of 10 years in the comedy industry.

As part of his celebration, he will be hosting the Ekurhuleni Comedy and Soul Picnic on December 1 at Ziba Park.

“I think the timing is just perfect.

“This is a great opportunity for me to reintroduce myself locally as I am recognised only in certain parts of the country and not my home town.

“There are many people who are not aware of what I do, some don’t even know that I grew up here.

“I strongly believe that my story can inspire someone who has aspirations of making it in the entertainment industry,” says Jazzbuda.

The multi-talented comedian can sing, dance, act and is a graduate of the University of Limpopo and he is practising law as an advocate.

He met comedy heavyweight David Kau in 2017 while doing a comedy show in Polokwane.

“Meeting David Kau was never planned; he had a show a day after mine and I told this guy I was with that I would like to work with him, I don’t know how but news reached him and he made arrangements for us to me,” explains Jazzbuda.

He has starred in a movie produced by David Kau titled Leeto la tekesi in 2018, and has worked with the likes of Roni Modimola, Kedibone Mulaudzi, Mashabela Galane and recently he was an opening act for American singer and songwriter Syleena Johnson.

“I have made some awesome memories and learnt a lot through my journey.

“What I want my community to know is that not only do I represent the country but them as well.

“People can look forward to having fun and experience some craziness,” he adds.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own camp chairs in case of a shortage of chairs, umbrellas will be provided.
