August 10 sees the newly crowned 2019 Hotrod World Champion, Robert McDonald from Scotland, in action as he will be making a guest appearance in a Mazda Rotary-powered Tigra from Renegade Racing.

The Rock Raceway will host the fourth leg of the 2019 Hotrod Tour.

McDonald can expect stiff opposition from Seef Fourie Jnr and Frans Joubert, who have locked out the front row at all three events held to date in 2019, as they use their vast circuit knowledge to their benefit.

Rudy Myburgh has won all three previous Tour events staged at the Rock Raceway and, with a new power plant, will be pushing for top honours.

Jason Loosemore, fresh from a very successful outing in the 2L Hotrod World Championships, will be trying to avenge his 2018 result where he came second to Myburgh.

Amos Cockeram has been knocking on the fringes of a top 3 result and will be buoyed after his recent success at the Rock Raceway, where he won the Rockmania Hotrod Challenge.

Dick Hillard makes his regular pilgrimage from the UK to campaign his South African car in a series that he has supported for over two years now.

World Champion INEX Legends superstar Devin Robertson will make a guest appearance to the class as he revisits his motor sport roots.

The 2.1L Saloon Legend Gerhard Koekemoer will make a welcome addition to this class.

A mixture of naturally aspirated and turbo piston engines along with their noisy Mazda Rotary counterparts make for a thrilling variety of race cars on offer.

British Touring Car Championship star Matt Simpson will be on the sidelines to support McDonald in his quest to be the first world champion to conquer the South Africans at The Rock Speed Weekend.

Saturdays proceedings will feature the following racing categories: Comer Ninja Midgets, Standard Midgets, Stockrods, 1660 Modified Saloons, 2L Hotrods and the fourth round of the National Hotrod tour.
