Thabang ER will tickle your funny bone

“I had to fight my way through and make a mark on an industry while trying to make a career out of my talent."

KwaThema – Your funny bone has not been tickled if you have not heard or seen Thabang Eugene Ramasenya, better known as Thabang ER to his fans, delivering his material on stage.

Thabang ER broke into the industry in 2012, delivering jokes about politics, sports and pop culture reciting his material in his vernac languages Sepedi and English and appealing to audiences across the ethnic spectrum.

The Limpopo-born artist won the FAME award for Best Limpopo Comedian in 2016.

Thabang ER says the journey to becoming a household name has not been easy.

“I have always loved making people laugh, even finding humour in serious topics.

“I had to fight my way through and make a mark on an industry while trying to make a career out of my talent.

“Through different gigs and hard work I was able to start hosting shows quarterly in Pretoria called #ERComedyWhatWhat.

“The shows have featured comedic spectacles such as Mashabela Galane, Sifiso Nene, Skhumba Hlope, David Kau, Carvin H. Goldstone, Isaac Gampu, Mpho Popps Modikoane and many more,” he says.

The multi-talented comedian has through the years worked with Thobela FM as a correspondent. He was featured on radio.

“My highlight of working on radio was when I was invited to work with the Afternoon Drive Show team, presenting ‘Madireng a Beke’ on Fridays between 2015 to 2016.”

Last year he landed an appearance in the popular SABC 1 soapie Skeem Saam and SABC 2 game show Karektas hosted by Desmond Dube.
