“I have always been drawn music,” Karabo explains.

“I always wanted to be around people or places where music was either created or played for the masses.

“All of those experiences led to me being interested in wanting to create my own interpretation of music.”

It was in 2012 that Karabo began teaching himself how to create electronic-based music with a close friend.

“My friend had a music compilation software programme on his PC and we just played around with it.

“In about a year or two, we figured out how to really make music.”

Together they created music under the alias Deep Montage.

Their debut EP (extended play record), released in late 2014, was well received in the house music industry, resulting in two of their singles occupying spots on the Traxsource Top 100 Afro House Tracks.

Traxsource is a downloading application for house and electronic music.

The 23-year-old has since embarked on a journey of building a solo career, leading to the March 1 release date for his latest project, Stay, featuring American-based vocalist Rai Knight.

“The song will be available on digital and streaming stores on the release date,” says Karabo.
