Smangele fights to win

KwaThema – Smangele Hadebe (24) won the International Bantum Weight Championship with a unanimous point’s decision in Kagiso on Friday.
She was fighting in the eight-round fight against Malawian boxer, Ellen Simwaka, at Kagiso Memorial and Recreation Centre.
The young boxer from Geo Maroon Boxing Club says the fight was one of the most challenging fights she has ever competed in.
“Ellen was tough and strong. I had to bring my A game and stand my ground.
“In the end I was the winner of the match,” she says.
Smangele says she has learned a lot from her opponent and will use the experience to improve her skills in the ring.
