Masemola works on new project #MakingIt

Tsakane – Ishmael ‘Mawesh’ Masemola (23) from Extension 19 is the young and talented co-founder of Regalism Entertainment. He is also a music producer, songwriter and recording artist.

This musician’s love for hip-hop dates back to the times of Prophets of Da City in the early ’90, when he was about eight years old.

“From that time music stuck with me until I started music when I was in Grade Seven, inspired by artists such as Molemi, Prokid and HHP.

“Hearing their style of sound influenced me to get into the music industry.

“To stand out, however, I took a decision to rap in Zulu, English and Sepedi,” he says.

Masemola released his first album True Wesh in 2015. The album features hits such as Money to Blow, Song for Mama, My Teddy Bear and Dreams Do Come True, among others.

“I collaborated with Raurau, Molly, Jaytee, Da Rain, Rhidrick, Bokarwela and Atomic, just to name a few.

“After dropping this album, I came back with an ear-catching single titled Mental Breakdown, where I share a sad story about an unfaithful woman who I had fallen in love with,” he says.

Masemola adds that he has also dropped another single titled Ke December Boss, a song that speaks about partying and having fun.

“This feel-good single speaks about the festive season, partying safely and drinking responsibly.

“In addition to this, I am currently working on a new project with Clifford ‘Da Rain’ Mnisi, Kgaogelo ‘Raurau’ Sebaka and Ayanda Nkosi.

“The project will be released in March,” he says.
