Myeni ready to minister through music

KwaThema – Local gospel artist, Lizwi Myeni (28) is currently promoting his two singles titled Inyoka ehlanu and The man on the throne which are both doing well on the airwaves.

With two albums under his belt, the artist promises listeners a treat with his upcoming album, due for release later this year.

He explains his love for gospel as second nature because he not only sings gospel but he also lives it in his daily life.

“I come from a family that sings gospel and lives by the word of God, so it was easy for me to find my sound in the genre as it was all I knew,” he says.

While trying to establish his music and find his identity, Myeni also tried out Afro-pop music and doing vocals for house tracks, which he says did not work all that well, hence he went back to his roots, which is gospel.

“I went back to singing gospel because it was who I am and what I believe in. I had many mentors who assisted me in finding my sound, which I believe people will enjoy with the album I’m busy with.

“The album is not only about praise, it minsters the word of God which is exactly what I wanted to do; to give people hope and comfort through my music,” says Myeni.

In September he is due to shoot his live DVD in Mozambique. From there he will be touring neighbouring countries to promote his music.

Audiences can get his music through iTunes and SoundCloud.
