A man of soul and RnB

Tsakane – Deejay and event organiser Fezile ''DJ Fez'' Magubane is planning his sequel Soul to Soul event, which will take place on September 4.

He is known in his community for his successful events and his love for soul music, which has afforded him the opportunity to share stages with the likes of Bob Mabena, Wilson B Nkosi and the late Eddie Zondi, to mention a few.

He says he draws inspiration from the many local deejays who are trying to make a name for themselves, which makes him hungry to do more.

Besides being a deejay and an event organiser, Magubane is also a marketing student and was previously a communications specialist.

“I’ve always been passionate about music, ever since I can remember, especially RnB and soul music.

“My love for music led me to deejaying, which introduced me to event organising,” he explains.

Speaking about his upcoming event, which is a follow-up to the Black and White event, Magubane promises a relaxed session accompanied with good music.

“This time around I’ve incorporated strictly local deejays who will be on the decks.

“I strongly believe in giving back and giving other local deejays a platform to showcase their skills,” says Magubane.

One of his goals is to release his own compilation CD to give back to his fans who have supported him right from the beginning of his journey.

He also advises young people not to be stereotyped and to look into different ways to unlock opportunities.
