Young entrepreneurs making moves
Tsakane - Vuyo Kunene (25) and Sphiwe Mabena (25) opened a concept store in Tsakane last month, where local brands can showcase their designs and work.
Owning brands themselves, the pair know how challenging it is for brand owners to access their market without a platform, so they sought to make it convenient for the consumer and designer to meet.
“We want consumers to work in the store and find all their local brands in one place, which will save both parties the time and money to try and reach each other,” says Kunene.
According to Mabena, there are quite a number of brands emerging in Kwatsaduza, and opening a concept store beneficial for designers and consumers made sense.
The duo have big plans for their new business, and at the moment they are focusing on marketing the store and building their brand.
“We want to create a sustainable fresh culture of street wear that young people can identify with and from there we can expand to other ventures,” says Mabena.
