Street dancing is entertaining

Children danced to the beat of the drums in Fourth Avenue, CBD, last Thursday.

These children, aged between eight and 13, dance under the guidance of Hlomani Mazibuko (29).

According to Hlomani, the children are all orphans who he has taken under his wing.

To feed the children, however, he needs funds and claims he pays for everything out of his own pocket.

He therefore decided to start a dance group in 2013 called Via-Mkhonto.

Although they are from Natalspruit, Hlomani takes them all over Gauteng to perform in the streets.

This is part of a fund-raising initiative to assist Hlomani in looking after the children.

The children, Nomonde Vaphi (10), Thando Mangoni (13), Mbalenhle Manyoni (8), Gift Makamu (12) and Nandi Mokoena were eager to show off their isiZulu dancing skills.

Dressed in traditional attire, entertaining the crowd came natural to them.
