Raymond dreams of owning music label

Langaville - Raymond Mohlala is climbing the ladder to success.

The 19-year-old Langaville Extension Eight resident is making a name for himself on the hip hop music scene.

Raymond completed his primary school education at Redumeletswe Primary School in KwaThema and proceeded to Laban Mothlabi Secondary School where he matriculated.

Raymond is now a student at the Sebokeng College where he studies business management.

His love for hip hop started in 2011.

“I fell in love with it after hearing the messages that most hip hop songs communicate to the listeners,” he says.

The up-and-coming artist, who has released his first single titled A Letter To Her, says his dream is to see himself sharing a stage with famous hip hop artists.

He also dreams of owning a music label, which he will use to help expose young talents from the townships.

Raymond hopes to release his album in July.

Speaking about the challenges faced by young artists, Raymond says the lack of recognition and being undermined by music producers and the community kill aspiring artists’ love for music.

“They need support from the community in order to keep believing in themselves,” he says.

Encouraging other artists, Raymond says they must not be discouraged by criticism, but use it positively to reach their dreams.
