Songwriter scores two award nominations

Tsakane - Thabiso Tsotetsi (38) has been nominated for two Ingoma Gospel Awards.

Tsotetsi, who hails from Tsakane, is a songwriter, producer and music arranger.

The awards recognise excellence in the gospel music industry.

Tsotetsi has been nominated in the Best Producer category, while his album ‘Heavenward Bound’ has been nominated in the Best Acapella Album category.

He explained that the Best Acapella Album category is voted for by the public.

“Last year I was nominated for the Best Gospel Acapella Album at the Crown Gospel Awards,” said a proud Tsotetsi.

He says even though he did not win the award, the nomination opened important doors for him.

Tsotetsi appeals for support from Kwatsaduza residents.

“Winning the award will not only mean my success, but a recognition of the gospel talent of Kwatsaduza artists,” he says.

Voting lines are open until May 15, and the awards will be held in Pretoria on May 16.
