These are the top 10 most stressful jobs of 2015 according to a study done by CareerCast.

Many people might be feeling particularly stressed about returning to work after a long summer holiday, yet some jobs are more demanding and stressful than others.

A recent study done by job search site CareerCast revealed the top 10 most physically and mentally stressful jobs of 2015.

The study is based on international jobs and is not specific to any country. It focuses on aspects such as travel, growth potential, deadlines, working in the public eye, competitiveness, physical demands, environmental conditions, hazards encountered, own life at risk, life of another at risk and meeting the public in order to determine the stress level of each job.

The most stressful jobs of 2015 are listed below.

10. Newspaper reporter
This specific job entails reporting on important local and world events, often taking risks while doing so. There is no room for error and they have to adhere to very strict deadlines while being watched by the public eye.

9. Photojournalist
Capturing the perfect image is very demanding and photojournalists place their own lives at risk by documenting important events in news and history. The conditions they work in may be harsh and dangerous.

8. Event coordinator
Events coordinators are in charge of the planning of major functions from weddings to seminars, taking full responsibility for the success of the function They are expected to plan every detail perfectly and deal with any problems that may arise.

7. Broadcaster
Being a broadcaster is one of the jobs where you appear in the public eye every day. This makes them vulnerable to criticism and also requires them to be quick on their feet to avoid making mistakes.

6. Actor
Full-time actors are required to travel often, leaving family behind, chase auditions and memorise full scripts. They also need to perform in front of large audiences which adds extra stress to the job.

5. Police officer
The job of a police officer is to protect the public while placing their own lives at risk. They are required to always be alert as well as act in the best interest of the community. Not only do they have to work shifts at unusual times, they also face physical harm.

4. Airline pilot
Being an airline pilot may seem like an exciting job, yet they are responsible for the lives of thousands of passengers. The unique skill of flying is one that requires a substantial amount of training and they need to be completely confident in their skills.

Military generals are responsible for the lives of all the men under their command and they are tasked with ensuring that all operations run smoothly.

Defending your country in the army is a job that is highly dangerous because you are expected to protect citizens on a national as well as an international level. Military personnel are away from their loved ones for long periods of time and their lives are at risk while doing so.

1. Firefighter
The job of a firefighter is no doubt one of the most dangerous professions in any country. They work unusual hours, always have to be quick and alert, and their place their own lives in danger in order to save the lives of others.
