South Africa’s popular cooking show, Kasi-licious, is back for another riveting season.
The show visits South African homes in search of their closely kept generational recipes that never fail. The host and chef, Katlego Mbambo reacquaints the black urban middle-class with their traditional cooking culture. He also features celebrity guests in his own kitchen to a re-create the same dishes.
This season is still about exploring African food and indigenous recipes. Katlego travels to different townships meeting real families and being introduced to how they make their favourite and most special dishes. But first, he gives the viewers a mini-tour of the specific township he features in each episode. Out on the street, he speaks to vendors, explores market places, greets the neighbours and explores the soul of that particular neighbourhood.
This season’s celebrity guests include some of Katlego’s close friends such as Good Hope FM jockey Loyiso Mdebuka, Chef Danian and Chef Smokey, Traffic’s! Mbulelo Grootbom, eNCA’s Bhavana Singh and Tanya Nefdt. These guests will have the pleasure of being served home cooked meals by Katlego using recipes that he collects from the warmest kitchens in Mzansi.
