Have fun with Rastafarians

The Persecuting Pressure Production to celebrate the Rastafarian religion in KwaThema.

The non-profit organisation was formed by Jah Ahmunah and Nomzingisi Tirunesh Mkhonto, a married Rastafarian couple from KwaThema’s White City section.

Jah Ahmunah Mkhonto says the aim of the event is to remember the Rastas who have died and to educate the community about the Rastafarian religion.

He says they want to change the perception of the people who think that the Rastas are only about smoking dagga and do not worry about the future and the well being of the people around them.

At the event, there will be free stalls, jumping castles and the music from different DJs.

Any kind of a donation will be appreciated by the organisation.

“We are also doing the event to raise funds to donate to the needy in Kwatsaduza,” says Nomzingisi Mkhonto, adding that on the day there will be motivational speakers who will be giving words of motivation to the youth.

“Our young people are suffering because they do not have jobs and do not get enough motivational words to keep them focused on their dreams,” she says.

Nomzingisi also explains that everyone is welcome to the event, irrespective of their religion.

The event will be held at Simunye Park at the corner of Job Maseko and KwaThema roads on November 2 from noon.

No entry fee will be required.
