The KwaThema Disabled Club continues to make KwaThema proud.

Six athletes from the club took part in the provincial athletics trials that were held at the University of Johannesburg Stadium over the weekend.

Mbali Madondo excelled in the long jump and shot put while the javelin star is Zandile Nhlapho.

Bongani Mgidi took part in the 200m and long jump while Tshepo Mbembe participated in the 400m and 200m run, Tshepang Jourbert competed in the 100m run and Sibusiso Nkosi championed the 200m, and 100m runs.

To keep the KwaThema flag flying high, the club’s tennis wheelchair team will be playing in the Summerstrand open tournament to be held in September in Port Elizabeth.

“We are not doing it for us, but for the people of Kwatsaduza and our love for sport,” said club’s chairman, Aubrey Mathibela.
