Tsamaya League calls for teams to join playoffs

The league champs will be awarded on February 2.

Kwa-Thema – The Tsamaya League ended in December, and the RDP Masters were crowned the year’s champs.

However, due to the weather, they couldn’t dress up with the runner-up team, Verbal Warning, the 2022 champs, for their achievement.

According to Tsamaya’s treasurer, Dumisani Dlamini, the teams will dress up and be awarded together with the third-place team, Makgwaba, on February 4 at the Tlakula Ground. Tsamaya’s chairperson, George Ngoma, will lead the affair.

“It is imperative of me to convey the words of gratitude expressed by the exco. All 16 teams deserve praise because week in and week out, they excel and are all winners, making us one of the most well-supported football leagues in the country,” said Dlamini.

The league is also preparing all 16 teams by staging official friendly games endorsed by it. The games start on January 28.

“We will use our traditional grounds – Tlakula and Entokozweni grounds. Then, the league will kick off with a gratifying fixture of the top-eight cup on February 4. The league will give more details at a later stage about this fixture, for example, the qualified eight teams, prizes and more,” he said

The league extends its hand to teams wishing to join it via the playoff games. They will join two relegated teams to fight for two spots to make up a 16-team league.
