Pirates slaughter Sundowns in Tsakani

Mamelodi Sundowns dethroned from the top of the PSL Reserves League

Tsakani – Kwatsaduza soccer fans were spoilt for choice when the DStv Diski Challenge hosted four matches at the Tsakane Stadium over the weekend.

In the first game on Saturday, Kaiser Chiefs met Chippa United on the field. Things got off to a rough start for Amakhosi when Neo Bohloko scored an own goal.

Amakhosi then equalised in the 32nd minute. Chippa did not take it lying down because Thando Jacobs got them in the lead again.

Chiefs fought back and scored their second goal in the 66th minute. Stellenbosch FC trashed Supersport United by two goals to one in the second match.

On Sunday, Orlando Pirates went head to head with Mamelodi Sundowns in a much-anticipated showdown.
MaSundawana were the first to find the back of the net in the eighth minute.

The Bucs responded no less than three minutes later, thanks to Mpumelelo Ndaba.

Mohau ‘Kokota’ Nkota extended the score line when he scored Pirates’ second goal after the referee awarded them a penalty shot.

Lulama Nxumalo got his name on the scoreboard when he scored Pirates’ third goal in the 80th minute.

Kokota put the last nail in Sundowns’ coffin when he scored again just five minutes before the final whistle.

Sundowns last won the Diski Challenge title in 2017 and were at the top of the table with 27 points before the match.

The Bucs have now taken the top spot. On the same day, TS Galaxy destroyed Polokwane City five goals to nil.
