Kwa-Thema – As part of their campaign to encourage locals to lead a healthy lifestyle, the Kwa-Thema Athletic Club is hosting their December camp from December 4 to 30.

During the camp, held Monday to Thursday, participants are encouraged to run everywhere at any time and are required to complete 22km.

Chairperson Sipho Skosane said Friday is a rest day. On Saturday, participants who will be challenging the 10km run will meet at the corner of Rapodile and Shabangu streets from 06:30.

“Those doing the 15km and 32km will meet at 05:30,” Skosane said.

This will be in preparation for the Dis-Chem Half-Marathon on January 14 in Bedfordview.

“It will be followed by the 42km Johnson Crane Marathon on January 28 which will be used as one of the events to qualify for the Comrades Marathon,” he said.
