Elkasico Cup to take place in December at Vosloorus
Teams from the east of Ekurhuleni are invited to a tournament in the south.
Kwatsaduza – As Kathorus gears up for the festive edition of the Elkasico Cup, the organisation is opening their doors to the other parts of Ekurhuleni.
Elkasico Cup is usually played during the Easter and the festive holidays at Vosloorus, with participants from Katlehong, Thokoza, Vosloorus and surrounding areas.
This year’s tournament will be from December 17 to 24 at the grounds at the corner of Cintso and Mokhehle roads.
Elkasi Cup Sports Network (ECSN) co-founder, marketing and sponsorship organiser Kefentse Moagi said, “These are community games. We are trying to involve the Ekurhuleni.”
He said the games should be what unite the entire region. Moagi said we should expect to see the best local soccer teams battling it out for supremacy.
“This tournament is designed to be family-friendly, with activities and entertainment for fans of all ages. Fans will get to enjoy food stalls, merchandise booths and the opportunity to meet their favourite players,” Moagi added.
He said affiliations are currently open. Only 24 teams will play in the tournament. The draw will take place on December 1.
