Kwa-Thema Disability Academy prepares for provincial trials

The academy will be at the trials on Saturday to try make the cut for the Gauteng Para-Athletics team.

Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Disability Academy will attend the second Gauteng Sports Association for Physically Disabled Para athletes trials at the Germiston Stadium on Saturday.

The selected players will qualify for the Toyota National Championship in Bloemfontein next March.

Coach Aubrey Mathibela said he was not worried about how his team would perform.

“I know they will make me proud because they train hard. Kwa-Thema as a whole will be proud of this team,” he said.

Mathibela said this wouldn’t be possible without the help of Jabu Kubheka and Willy Msomi, who were a great help to the team, especially helping with transport and food for the team when playing away games.
