WATCH: Springs Home Sweepers swept Lesotho away

Home Sweepers beat Lesotho in both games.

Kwa-Thema – Springs Home Sweepers hosted the Lesotho U17 and U20 girls for friendly matches on Saturday at the Kwa-Thema Stadium.

The Lesotho national team travelled to get a beating from the local team in the practice games ahead of the 2024 Women’s AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) U17 and U20 qualifiers.

The plan was for the games to start at 13:00. However, Lesotho arrived late, meaning the matches began at 14:15.
In the U17 game, Home Sweepers beat Lesotho 5-2.

Home Sweepers led 3-0 at halftime, scoring the fourth goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Lesotho tried to build their confidence and get back in the game but only scored two goals.

The lady of the moment was Keketso Malatji, who scored a hat-trick for Home Sweepers.

The U20 Home Sweepers won their match 3-2.

Home Sweepers technical coach Mkhonza Mkhonzana said, “I am glad we gave the team a tough practice and that these games will help their girls build confidence.”

He said the games benefited his teams because they got to play an international team.

“My girls will feel they can now take on any team because they won against an international team,” he concluded.
