Local athletes to represent the City in Soncini games

Kwa-Thema – Two athletes from the Kwa-Thema Disability Club have qualified to participate in the annual OR Tambo Soncini Social Cohesion Games.
The competition is set to take place on October 23 and 24 at Germiston Stadium.
The games aim to celebrate the legacy of fallen struggle hero OR Tambo.
Participants will compete in athletics, netball, basketball, football and swimming, with the focus on the age group for athletics being u-16 (born in 2006 or 2007).

Siphesihle Mabena and Refilwe Sishange will be representing the City at the provincial competition.
Team coach Aubrey Mathibela said he is proud of his players for making it this far in the competition.
“We are hoping they come back with gold medals,” he said.
