New sports association launched

To celebrate heritage there will be activities such as dancing and and fun walk.

Langaville – The Langaville, Duduza, Tsakani and Kwa-Thema (LDSK) Sports Association was launched on Tuesday afternoon at the Langaville Extension Eight Ground.
The association’s main goal is to bring unity and improve sports in Kwatsaduza.
Speaking for the association, Mmabatho Mariri said: “As a team, we saw there is a gap that needed to be closed in terms of sports in our community. We had one vision and decided to turn it into reality.

“We lack sports facilities as a community. There is enough space that can be used to develop and build those facilities. We want to work on that and work with the youth to develop their sports skills.
“The first step is always the hardest, but for now we will work with what we have and we are open to accepting any form of donations and sponsorship.

“We hope the community will work with us on all of our sports projects.”
LDSK Sports Association will be holding their first sports event on Heritage Day.
Their theme U’Bumbano Games, u’bumbano means unity. There will be soccer tournaments for girls and boys, netball and athletics.

Dancing and a fun walk are some of the other fun activities on offer. The association is calling for teams to participate in the sports event.
All teams around Kwatsaduza are welcome. Registrations close on September 21.
