Bhayoyo Athletes back in action

According to assistant coach Liesbet Ntozini, this was their first official event since lockdown started.

Kwa-Thema – The Bhayoyo Athletics Academy runners from Mzumbe took part in the League 3 Cross-Country event at Boksburg Stadium on Saturday.
Andile Mkansi placed third and Mahle Vilakazi sixth in the 1km run.
For the 2km race in the u-12 category, Olwethu Molefe placed fifth, Ncumisa Mpambani fourth and Simphiwe Radebe sixth.

For the u-14s, Samkelo Nkosi placed fourth, with Boitumelo Mkhabela securing the fifth position in the 2km race.
The academy also received a kit donation from a local business on Monday.
According to assistant coach Liesbet Ntozini, this was their first official event since lockdown started.
“I am happy with the team’s performance.
“It has been a while since we have been on the ground, training or participating.
“Their performance shows we are off to a good start,” she said.

The academy will be heading to Orange Farm on June 19 to compete in the League 4 Cross-Country competition.
Head coach Bhayoyo Vilakazi said he was thankful for the donation.
“Having people who continue to believe in and support us is a blessing. We don’t take it for granted.
“This uniform will help our athletes a lot,” he said.
