“Our training sessions have been affected since the dawn of Covid-19. We are unable to meet for training like we used to and as a result many of our players are out of shape.

“We are a big team and many fear the virus. The provincial tournament is around the corner so we have to shape up and be ready physically.

“We are known for our fitness and collecting medals. We can’t afford to mess up our reputation,” he explained.

Mathibela added they are hoping to have more players qualifying for the national tournaments.

“We are a team of 44 players competing in different sporting codes, and are hoping all the players make it to the nationals,” he added.
