Novice bodybuilders empowered to fight GBV

“We need to use our athleticism successfully to raise a positive message that discourages any form of violence against women and children."

Duduza – The South African Classic Action Sport Unit (SACASU) hosted their third Ekurhuleni Bodybuilding Interactive Championship (EBBIC) workshop at Duduza Library last Saturday.
This was to prepare for the bodybuilding show to take place next month, which is fully funded by the National Lottery Commission.
The workshop was set to empower novice bodybuilders to enhance their posing stunts and tactics to bring their best on stage.

The competition also aims to highlight violent behaviour against women.
It was facilitated by world-class professional bodybuilder Xolani Zuma and an acclaimed international fitness model, Maria Dial.
Founder and secretary of SACASU Julius Radebe said the exercise was successful as all bodybuilders seemed happy with the skills they acquired.
“We need to use our athleticism successfully to raise a positive message that discourages any form of violence against women and children.
“We are empowering our inspiring bodybuilders to excel on stage,” explained Radebe.
He added EBBIC seeks to prove that muscularity shouldn’t be used to attack physically vulnerable society members but to protect them.

The EBBIC show will take place on April 17 at the Duduza Resource Centre with all Covid-19 regulations observed.
