Rugby development underway in Kwatsaduza

They have formed partnerships with 18 secondary schools and 10 primary schools within Kwatsaduza.

Kwa-Thema – The South African Rugby Legends Association under the Vuka programme, an initiative to develop rugby within township schools, donated 185 pairs of rugby boots and 100 balls to local schools at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex on September 25. 

This was done in partnership with Boots For Africa.
They have formed partnerships with 18 secondary schools and 10 primary schools within Kwatsaduza.
Development manager for the Falcons Rugby Union Jaco Coetzer said: “We are running the biggest rugby development programme in the country, focusing on townships in Ekurhuleni and surroundings.

New tennis club has plans for community

“With this programme we focus on helping non-traditional rugby playing schools with coaching and logistics to play rugby. We encourage both male and female rugby players to participate.
“We are in partnership with organisations such as Boots For Africa to assist players with rugby boots and support.”
The Falcons Rugby Union have provided over 4 000 food parcels since the beginning of lockdown.
Coetzer urged players to keep fit.
“To all our players, stay positive, and keep working on your fitness. The pandemic will disappear and we will get back to the field soon.
“In the meantime, keep yourself and your teammates motivated.”
