“I started small with the bike and protective equipment and later moved to the others.”

She says, “I have identified that many women in the area are participating in other sporting codes, but not cycling.

“One of the main challenges that I have gathered is that the equipment are expensive and they will not be able to afford them.

“This is understood, but doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

“I started small with the bike and protective equipment and later moved to the others.

“We are also calling on local business people to come forward by donating equipment,” she says.

Tjabadi started cycling after she decided to buy bikes for her two children in 2017.

“I was at a point in my life where I wanted to start something new and I have never looked back.

“I was later invited to join the East Rand cycling team, this is where I mastered the sport,” she explains.

She recently participated in the 2020 CTCT on March 8.
