“We are hoping that through the games we will be able to motivate young people to keep off the streets and focus on sports,” he adds.

KwaThema – Local senior soccer teams are encouraged to register for the upcoming Juluka 11 Easter Games.

The games are set to be hosted from April 10 to 13 at Tlakula Sports Grounds.

Organiser Bheki Mahlangu says eight teams will be fighting to win the R10 000 prize, gold trophy and medals.

“The runners-up will walk away with R5 000 and silver medals, while the third placers will receive R2 000 and bronze medals.

“The teams are called to register as soon as possible because space will be reserved for the early birds.

“Each team is expected to pay R1 000 to be able to participate in the tournament.

“The closing date for affiliation is April 7 and the draw will be held at the Legend Village in KwaThema,” he adds.
