Residents urged to attend local parkrun

“Residents must remember that it is never too late to start running."

KwaThema – Residents of Kwatsaduza are encouraged to participate in the Bulithando Parkrun every Saturday from 8am.

The 5km run is attended by people of all ages in a bid to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be an active community.

The run is divided into two laps with volunteers at some of the points in case there is an emergency.

Bulithando Parkrun director Victor Ngubeni says they are proud of the runners of all ages who join the weekly run.

“We need everyone to participate because these sessions are by the people for the people of this neighbourhood.

“We will not have a successful parkrun if the number of participants keeps dropping every weekend.

“Residents must also remember that we brought the parkrun to the area after seeing many of the locals participating in parkruns in other areas.

Ngubeni says the runners must remember to register on the Parkrun website and bring their bar codes to record their finishing time.
