Sports confed to bring order to KwaThema

The KwaThema Sports Confederation has been officially recognised as a non-profit company (NPC) by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission.

KwaThema – The KwaThema Sports Confederation has been officially recognised as a non-profit company (NPC) by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission.

“We registered the confederation because we want the sports fraternity to see that we are serious about the work.

“We are not just a committee, but we are here to work,” explains Innocent Mayoyo, the organisation’s chairperson.

He says all other federations, sports clubs and other sport entities need to be affiliated with the confederation.

“This body will ensure proper structure in the way we do sport in KwaThema.

“We cannot not have everyone doing their own thing.

“We will have order and the man power if we all come together for a common goal,” he adds.

Mayoyo says the confederation will also assist the clubs in the process of acquiring corporate sponsorship.

“The sponsors want to know that your team belongs somewhere and you are accountable to someone.

“That is what the confederation is here for.”

The organisation hopes to represent every sport available in KwaThema and provide a platform to develop more sporting activities.

“We encourage other organisations to approach us when they plan any sporting activity.

“For example, if a church has a sports day to raise funds or any other reason, they need to let us know.”

The committee is working from the KwaThema Customer Care offices, where anyone can reach them if they have any questions.
