Get fit, try boot camp

Carnation Living presents a fun way of staying fit as they host boot camps in KwaThema.

KwaThema – Carnation Living wants to get you in the best shape of your life, while you have fun.

Carnation Living is a health, development and lifestyle programme designed around physical and fitness training.

“Most of our population is either overweight or obese and as a result, common illnesses escalate especially among our children.

“These common illnesses are high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, just to name a few,” explains Hlulani Baloyi, co-founder of the programme.

She says they have used weight-loss boot camps, 5km to 8km runs and walks, and hiking to help people get into shape.

“We understand the need to keep healthy and remain health conscious.

“We also want to focus on educating children, the youth and the elderly on health and fitness subjects, particularly in the black community.”

She says their efforts to run these health programmes won’t reach their maximum effectiveness unless they have the entire community’s support.

Carnation Living has also partnered with trainers from Gym Tym to run a boot camp programme.

“We started the boot camps in March and we will continue until the end of May.”

The sessions take place at the KwaThema Sports Complex Rugby Field at 7.30am every Saturday.
