Springs football junior league underway

“These games keep the boys from participating in social ills like drugs and other illegal activities.”

KwaThema – Springs Junior League started with 14 u-11 and 22 u-13 teams participating in the 2017/18 league games on Saturday.

The teams are fighting for the number one spot on top of the logs and be crowned as champions.

Thabiso Marumo of the Springs Local Football Association says they are happy that all the teams in the area are participating in the new year’s league games.

“On field A, Happy Angels won against Young Peace Brothers 5-3.

“On field B, Real Barcelona won against Springs H Sweepers 3-2.

“Nkele Smiling Bees lost against Tornado Lions 3-5.

“On field C, Reedville United mopped the floor with Sanders United with a 5-1 win while Jealous Down played to a 2-2 draw against Ampie Vultures.

“While Langaville won against XI Experience 3-2 on field D,” he says.

Thabiso says they are calling on residents to participate and support the teams.

“This will help to build their momentum and take the games seriously.

“These games keep the boys from participating in social ills like drugs and other illegal activities,” he says.
