Ace Ayoba Academy participate in Cradock tournament

Founder and coach Innocent Mayoyo says the senior team was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

KwaThema – Ace Auto Ayoba Academy participated in the Cradock Easter Tournament in Cradock over the Easter holidays.

The team was participating in the tournament for the third time as part of development games.

“The team played three matches and won 6-0 against Nyathi FC.

“In the next round, they played against Inyathi FC and won 6-1.

“They lost to Young Stars in the quarter finals 1-0,” he says.

Mayoyo says the junior team played against Cradock Selected team and won 8-1 in the first game and the second game they won 4-1.

“This was an opportunity for the team from Cradock to learn and interact with our players on the pitch.

“We also hosted a coaching clinic session with the teams,” he says.

Mayoyo says he is proud of the players for displaying good football skills during the tournament.

“We are using the games to develop soccer in disadvantaged communities.

“We are also offering our help to groom boys to become responsible citizens.

“We are currently struggling with drug addiction and teenage pregnancies but through sports, the boys are taught the importance of school and working hard for a better future.

“The games offer the boys from different communities an opportunity to share skills and develop their craft,” he says.
