Kasi gym helps residents shed extra fat

Bokamoso Fitness Club in Tsakane is helping kasi residents to shed extra weight.

Tsakane – The team was formed 13 years ago after years of young people complaining about not having gyms within the community or within a walkable distance.

Group instructor Nomsa Mokoena says many people were forced to drive out of the community to the suburbs to exercise.

“We decided that if we wanted to have a health community we should start an exercising team with a group of friends.

“Throughout the years the numbers have continued to grow with people of all ages joining us and we are seeing results.

“This gives us hope and faith that we are doing something right and are making a difference in keeping our people healthy.

“We don’t only teach our members about exercise routines but also about the importance of eating healthily and how to look after the self.

“It is pointless to exercise daily while you follow a bad diet,” she says.

Nomsa says the sessions are held from Monday to Friday from 6.pm at the Faranani Multipurpose Centre.

“We are calling on people of all ages to join us and keep fit.
