“They are also able to implement some of the pointers we identify during the different games they played since the beginning of the season."

KwaThema- Springs Home Sweepers Academy represented the area with pride during the Zodwa Khoza Memorial Games in Soweto over the weekend.

Springs Home Sweepers Academy coach, Mkhonza Mkhonzana, says the u-13 girls played to a 7 – 0 win against Tinasty Ladies Football Club based in Westbury.

“The u-17 team lost 0 -1 to Blue Birds Football club from Alexandra.

“We are proud of the way the teams played. They showed us they are a winning a team.

“They are also able to implement some of the pointers we identified during the different games they played since the beginning of the season,” he says.

Mkhonza says they are now beefing up the team and are working hard to win more games.

“We want our girls to be among the best players in the country like we were in previous years.

“KwaThema was known for producing the cream of the country’s best players and we are going back to that.

“Hard work and dedication will see them selected to play for the national teams.

“They know that nothing comes without hard work and we don’t expect any less from them.

“We are proud of them and we will continue supporting and help shape their craft through the help of the community,” he says.
