Nigel United Buccaneers Football Club shines at tournament

Tsakane – Nigel United Buccaneers Football Club won the Off-School Holiday Tournament hosted at Bluegumview Sports Grounds in Duduza.
The tournament hosted u-13 and u-15 teams to keep young players busy and off the streets during the winter holidays.
Team chairperson, Tshepo Tlagae, says both teams walked away with gold medals and two trophies.
“We are proud of the young players for showing such discipline on the field.
“This shows all the hard work we do to mould them into professional players.
“Our sole responsibility is to develop young players so they become good players who will, one day, represent the country,” he says.
Tshepo says they are also happy to announce that both teams would be sponsored by one of the big property companies in the area.
“All 30 players received a certificate of achievement from the company.
“We are calling on local business people to come forward and sponsor local teams because we will not be able to fight social ills without working together,
“We also appreciate the support from parents who make sure that their children attend soccer games. It is good to see them on the field cheering them on,” he says.
